The other thing that occurs to me about Beebs story here is that, he's using this as an excuse to bail on a concert tour..

These tours are always insured against this sort of thing.

If an artist "becomes ill, or otherwise incapacitated.." they still rake in the money from the tour while sitting at home in their mansion and smoking dope.
