An Avondale woman "intentionally" hit two people with her car Wednesday killing one man and leaving another wounded, Cincinnati police said.

Taah’viya Chapman, 24, is charged with murder and felonious assault. One of the victims, Christopher Scott Griffith, 58, died as a result of the incident, police said.

Investigators said Chapman struck the men near the Spring Grove Village Kroger on Kenard Avenue.

Chapman was also charged with child endangering on Wednesday. It is unclear if the incident happened in connection with the crash.

In the past year, Chapman was charged separately with child endangering and interference with custody. Both of those cases are ongoing.

In the child endangering case from December 2021, Chapman is accused of hitting a 9-year-old girl with a belt and punching her in the eye. Recent court filing show Chapman plans to say she was acting in self-defense. A hearing for this case was held on Tuesday. It does not appear the two child endangering cases involved the same juvenile.

Chapman is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $10,000 bond related to the felonious assault charges. She is scheduled to appear in court Friday on the murder charge. Her bond could be raised at that hearing.
