No, the UAD Pultecs.
Forgot to add I also used the FabFilter Q3 for hi pass (100Hz) and lo pass (8KHz) - as the first EQ
No, the UAD Pultecs.
It's going to have an OP07 operational amplifier chip in it.
That's how I have mine, except the Volume is at 2 o'clock and the Distortion is just a hair lower than above.harddriver wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 8:01 pm Hopefully PLX can post the pic I sent him soon so you can see the marks NUNO made for the roadie but until then here are the settings someone snapped of NUNO's 85/86 Rat sitting on top of his Marshall at some show.
Distortion Just barely under the 9 oclock line
Filter Straight up at Noon 12 O'clock on the line
Volume Exactly at 3 O'clock right on the line
You may already know all this but I wanted to pass it along if you haven't seen the pics... I don't have a pic hosting site since I let my photobucket go so I can't post pics easily otherwise I would post it.

This speaks to what lots of RAT experts say about variances between different units..

There is almost no tonal difference between the OP AMP chips used across the decades. The difference is in the 5% ~ 20% tolerances in the pots.
That's why it's possible to dial up the same tone on different units - but you may have to set the controls slightly different.
