I think so too.harddriver wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 2:33 am The FW pickup does a pretty good NUNO you'll just need to EQ in more highs and bite as if it were a BL L500XL.
It feels good to play, but it's lacking in the high-end still.

Nice..... it sounds even tighter and crunchier than the HMWH clip......
I can tell it has that bounce to the midrange on the D and G strings...ala NUNO, yo have to feel a difference playing if I can hear the difference.PLX wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 2:36 amI think so too.harddriver wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 2:33 am The FW pickup does a pretty good NUNO you'll just need to EQ in more highs and bite as if it were a BL L500XL.

What is the AC voltage in this clip? Did you bump it to 110ACV?
Naw, it was at 100Vharddriver wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 3:07 amWhat is the AC voltage in this clip? Did you bump it to 110ACV?
I was thinking I'm using the wrong speaker impulse responses and/or I need to tweak the knobs on the RAT pedal..harddriver wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 4:10 pm You've heard it... you've played it...now it's up to you to finish executing.
I still think it needs a little more gain and compression. Try pre-amp gain at 7-8. Turn that voltage up to at least 110-115ACV.
You have a pretty good core tone right now...could it get better if you continue trying the base amp settings I recommend? There is only one way to find out and take another 2-3 seconds to turn that variac up a little more.PLX wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 4:31 pm

It's waaay to bass heavy for Nuno's sound.
I'm actually not hearing all that bass when I'm playing/recording it because I'm sitting at a desk with two monitors pointed at each ear and it's pretty loud. But when I go back a day later and listen to all these tracks, I hear it..
I set the variac at 115V a couple hours ago.harddriver wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 5:27 pm You have a pretty good core tone right now...could it get better if you continue trying the base amp settings I recommend? You need to finish executing the core tone on before changing your IR's and such, I think the IR's sound fine. Once you have that tight, bouncy pokey crunchy tone then tweak the post EQ from there. With only 10 more volts to 100VAC has made a drastic improvement. Maybe you should continue your journey. In the end you may prefer 100VAC and that will be your call but you can either prove me and yourself right or wrong with a clip at 110-115VAC and maybe set the preamp gain to 7-8.
Personally I think the greenback and 12H-30 are good NUNO speakers.
Again you are going to have to back the master volume down some as the plate voltage goes up.
