Building Guitar Effects Pedals
Anyone tried this ? I've modded a couple of pedals (MXR Distortion+, DOD Compressor), but never built one from scratch.
Doing some research on the topic. Looks like I can build a clone of the SoloDallas "Storm" for under $75.. parts, tax & shipping from 3 online shops. That pedal retails for over $200, new.

I have never tried building pedals. I fear it would be a rabbit hole I may never escape from so I just buy them for good deals and stay in my happy place....in the corner......in the fetal position........trying not to think of how much I could save by building them myself.

From the little bit of research I've done the past week, it looks like you can clone any pedal out there for between 25% ~ 33% of the retail cost of the actual pedal.
