Re: Boss GE-10 Equalizer
Hey, what was Ed's signal chain in the early days ?
Where does the GE-10 go ???
I have two EP-3 preamps in stomp-box format, I have the Shaffer-Vega wireless pre-amp (also stomp-box), MXR-phase 90, and the GE-10.

Re: Boss GE-10 Equalizer
After the effects and echoplex just before the amp input.
He started using the GE-10 on the Japan tour June 1978 supposedly to boost the signal because of the low impedance of the echoplexes and the long cable runs as he did not start using the Schaefer Vega wireless until the end of the 78 tour. You also see in the Japan pics Ed had the MXR 6band after the GE-10 right before the main Marshall 12301 which I read was just to mislead people because he supposedly used the MXR on a looper pedal to turn it on and off, that was the Colorsound overdriver enclosure with a footswitch on it.
Guitar>Flanger>Phase 90>echoplex>MXR 6 band EQ/Boss GE-10>Marshall 100 watt amp. You will see the GE-10 and MXR on Ed's board at the California Jam Aptil of 1979.

Re: Boss GE-10 Equalizer
Damn, you're right. I thought that because I don't have the flanger..harddriver wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 1:45 am MXR flanger was always the first pedal after the guitar.
So, I have the phase 90 after the guitar.
Don't have the 6 bad EQ either because it's noisy as hell.
So I have Guitar => Scaffer-Vega pre => Phase 90 => EP-pre => EP-pre => GE-10 => amp
