I pulled the back off...........NOPE... there is no way to get a good look at the pots for a date unless the board is pulled, it's really tight quarters in there. :(

Maybe one day I will more motivated to exactly date this piece but for now I'm just happy the darn thing works well...except for the dodgey footswitch. :x

Yes the clock noise trimpot does have some solder on it....confirmed........... ;) As long as I use the looper pedal then the clock noise won't be an issue....hopefully down the road.

So in my MXR Flanger it looks like they substituted a SPDT switch for a DPDT switch wired to operate as a SPDT switch in my MXR flanger. Probably pulling a Marshall and just using what was available at the time. Look s like Dunlop has these DPDT made by Carling as well as the SPDT ones.

Would you recommend just using the SPDT over the DPDT that's in there now. The Dunlop Carling DPDT is twice the price of the standard Carling....

I thought that switch looked a little different from the one in my 1977 MXR Distortion+

That explains it.

The schematic shows SPDT was the stock arrangement ..

I got my Bypass Looper pedal for the MXR Flanger today, it has two switches a regular on/off switch and a momentary switch so you can engage while just holding the switch down........I just hooked it up and it's pretty sweet works great for $60.00 bucks. This will work until I install the new switch even after I will still be using this looper...LUV the momentary switch for UNCHAINED!

I do think the vintage MXR Flanger is better than my EVH Flanger, it just has the correct swirl and sweep........... ;)
