I'd say this pickup (based on your various clips) finally gets you in the "Tone Zone" as far as the right amount of gain for the stuff you're playing.

PAF-type winds are only good for 60's & 70's standard rock levels of gain (unless you goose it with a stomp).

Greg confirmed for me that the design is based on Jim's research into the original Seymour Duncan JB.
