Re: Guitar Picks
I recently started using the Hetfield White Fang 1.14 picks and love them. They last well and have a great feel/texture about them for gripping purposes. The material seems to make the pick feel stiffer than the size indicates without being thicker which I like. They have a nice shape to them and are great for the fast, alternate picking stuff. They are pointy enough to be articulate, thick enough to respond speedily and they don't get hung up if/when you dig in. Great blend of the various attributes I enjoy and depend on in a pick so I thought I would share.

Re: Guitar Picks
Still using Dunlop Nylon 1MM and sometimes I use fender Mediums celluloids when I'm in the mood but mostly use the Nylons as I pick really hard and pretty much destroy the old school fenders quickly.

I've tried to pick lighter over the years, but I just can't get away from digging in.........................................Monkey Man wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 10:10 amHarddriver.harddriver wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 9:09 pm ... Hey, it'd save a little bit of volume-knob travel on your geetars, eking out that extra gain.

Re: Guitar Picks
I have gone through so many brands and types, but the one I keep using is the medium TUSQ GraphTech. There are extra harmonics and detail in the notes with these picks. They do wear a bit faster than others, but really like them for recording and hearing my tone in the mix better.

Old Fender 351 heavy celluloids, have plenty, won’t need anything else.

Re: Guitar Picks
These are my actual pics I use in the photo.
I normally go though a normal material pic each gig easily however, the Blue Chip picks last forever.
Yes, they're STUPID CRAZY expensive but they're actually worth it.
Why? because they're hard as fuck and self lubricating.
What self lubricating means is they DON'T create jagged or frayed edges when worn down PLUS they keep their shape sharpness wise.
I was a non believer and I bitched & moaned about the price A LOT but I've had these picks for years and I do play hard.
I use the carbon nylon pic when I want super HF harmonics.
