Below are randomly selected comments in the video comments section. These are 100% real. And will make you seriously question your participation in any online gear forum, because they're all the feckin' same!

The Gear Page is unusable to me. Full of ads and pop-up ads, slows down my PC, useless in its current state.
Yeah that's true, people don't like change when change means more ads, more banning, more privacy concerns, that's exactly correct!
Went on to the site on mobile. The threads now have an ad between every two replies. Insane
Never been to the site. I don’t do forums. Nothing gets better anymore, so I’d imagine the site now will be more or less an ad platform and data mine
It's befitting that this comes up as TGP has been locking any threads of tariff discussion. It's not a good sign where a site can't have an open discussion on that but the insanity of The Pub is okay.
I have never gone on the Gear Page, I am on a few guitar forums, well some I haven’t been on in a while, but about half are owned by VS.
There were technical issues on one that messed stuff up shortly after they made changes
But who knows…
Guess I won’t be visiting Gear Page again. I detest ads and enough with the tracking.
I have a look at TGP every now and again and will answer a question if I know (or feel I know... haha) the answer. To be fair I have learned things on there. Tips on how to get maximum use out of certain items for example. These new owners are not (we assume at least) guitar nerds so they are there to sell ads and plunder your data - for huge profit.
Gear page used to be really cool as a resource. It devolved into a negative pick measuring contest. you can find some good stuff there still, but don't ever bring up PRS vs Gibson, unless you want to watch lawyers and retirees fight.
If you look at the places they bought, they are dead, and sanitized, and unsearchable so the old content you would want to find is buried.
Looks like they own TDPRI and the Marshall Forum, too. Probably more. Gulping up the guitar forum spaces…
Frogs need a salad-like environment.
Time to leave and start your own forum!
The owner is not the issue. It’s the members who are toxic and unanimously hate all YT content creators. I wouldn’t give them a microsecond of air time on YouTube. When they share this video there, go read the comments. TGP makes me hate guitar players. Seriously
Same content as the facebook forums...is this real, I dont like this or that brand or the guy who claims to be in a band or guitar luthier for 90 years, whith an opinion. Never even get on the forums.
and on and on............The Gear Page is long past its peak. The increasingly draconian levels of moderation drove a lot of people off, either voluntarily or through unjustified bans. It's not nearly the same community it was when I first joined in 2012 and I hardly engage anymore. Not worth it given the level of concern that mods are looking for any and every reason to put one more strike towards that inevitable permanent ban. It looks like Vertical Scope is only going to continue those practices.
