They're full of paid posters.

That's right, they're paid to post on the forum so that the website analytics metrics stay up and so that it appears the forum is full of activity from people who have a vested interest in guitar and related genres. Some just post for free but have no vested interest in guitar, etc...

All of this activity means more website ad revenue, if ads are enabled (Google Ads more than likely).

There are also paid "professional trolls" who stir up political shit (if allowed) to create activity.

What this all means is that for any given gear forum, if you are serious about guitar and gear, you are more likely than not to be conversing with someone who doesn't actually even play the guitar. They exist solely to pad website stats.
