Also for the record, none of these online schlubs who cry, "get your own tone!" have produced evidence that they themselves came up with a unique and distinctive guitar tone in the annals of guitar tone that they can claim as their "own".

For what it's worth, I've started using the "early VH tone" that I've finally nailed for all my rhythm guitar parts when I record.

It isn't "my" tone, but it is a hell of a tone for rhythm guitar tracks

Learning famous tones in detail only makes you more knowledgeable; which you can apply to your own shit.

Not only do you have to learn the guitar gear, but eventually you have to learn a completely new skill: the studio (and all it encompasses).

(I mean, that is unless one only wants to put up clips that were recorded on an iphone chucked on the floor...)
