There's the gear side, then there's the studio side.
IIRC, these are old 1950's tube equalizers; apparently used on at least the first album.
They are famous EQs and certianly in the "Studio Gear Hall of Fame" if such a hall existed.
They impart a tubey grit to the guitar tone while equalizing, and sound excellent on guitars.
I use the EQP-1 to hi and low pass and add 5K bite, and the MEQ-5 to dip 700Hz
Note: There's a third component EQ in the "set", the HLF-3C, which was designed specifically for hi-pass and low-pass, but it's supposed to be rare.

I fully agree III............The Jim Gaustad tonequest videos are really eyeopening! That Sunset Sound plugin effect and reverb rooms stuff is nothing short of amazing IMHO!

You wouldn't hear me complain I really enjoyed my time there at Metro! It was alot of fun!
I guess i was AWOL when it disentigrated into oneupmanship and backbiting. I did get some pissy posts from a certain STAH man though and I didn't know why at the time......
