Watching this now.
Interesting about the 16Ω resistive load connected to the 8Ω tap off the amp for the "Sammy" era.

One hour in.. They start talking about the Van Halen tuning offsets and Allen Garber (garbeaj). Allen is in the live chat and it's hilarious to read.
It's the same shit as it was back 8 years ago on the MetroAmp forum.. all these idiots who don't know what the fuck they're talking about start arguing with him. They have never even tried these tuning offsets. They all say the same stupid shit, "Ed just tuned by ear!" blah blah blah. For fucks sake.
I bought a Peterson Strobe tuner on Allen's recommendation and tried those tuning offsets back when he first posted them, and they were a life-changing experience as far as tuning the guitar

There's a pic of Ed in the earlier years in the backstage dressing room with his guitar and an old-school Peterson strobe tuner.PLX wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 3:25 am One hour in.. "Ed just tuned by ear" well, maybe the B string for certain songs (to get rid of the annoying "beat")... but yeah, Peterson strobe.

Yep.
I'm not sure why the idea of Ed not knowing (or caring) how to fine tune a guitar to itself is so appealing to morons, but it is..

Good luck finding a photo of early Van Halen backstage showing a picture of Ed without a guitar in his hands while plugged into a Peterson Stroboscope tuner.

Yep. That's his original post about the VH tuning offsets on MetroAmp forum dated 2014. I think he may have published the tuning offsets at some earlier date on another site.. VHLinkslll wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 4:30 pm Metroamp thread link:

I linked his updated thread from 2017 in one of my posts above. The 2014 one has all the MetroAmp morons arguing with him against his research and his findings.

Even that douchebag moderator "JimiJames" was trying to discredit his work in that thread.

@ 2:10 parallel attenuator comes up.
Dave says what I've been sayin' for years.
You plug a 4x12 cab into one 16Ω (or 8Ω) tap, and a resistive (or reactive) load into the other tap. It'll lower the volume of a 100W tube amp by about one third.
