I'm convinced Greenback + JBL for years. JBL gives that odd "stonky" ("scratchy+honky") hashy upper midrange bite.

So much for "guitarist adjectives"... :lol:

Gaustad nails the early VH tones.

I watched the video he's referring to, and I think Jim's is probably more correct about the JBL's.

Secret pedal?
No secret pedals, I can prove Musicman HD130 and HD65 heads at some of the early 77/78 shows but they are similar to Bandmasters. I have a new thread discussing this in the Selland show REVISITED thread.

If you count the FETS in the Solid/State preamps of the Musicmans then you could argue it's a really large pedal.......... :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
