Fed-Ex Scares Me...

Post by RockyStar »

So I purchased 2 items (same company at the same time so technically one sale). Free two day shipping. We are on day 4 today by the way. Not sure why the seller didn't put both items in one shipment but I get that it is easy to miss such a thing so no worries. As I am watching tracking the packages end up going on very different paths. Both items left at the same time and then they just separated and wandered off from each other. One package goes probably twice the distance out of the way to eventually get back on track while the other package takes some side streets and sits for a day while his sidekick catches up. Each item is arriving on a different delivery truck from a different town to my place. go figure...lol.

I actually get anxiety attacks waiting for gear to arrive while watching tracking updates. :?

I can tell horror stories about custom-wound pickups being delivered to neighbors.. etc, etc.

And you all know about my recent amp debacle with UPS.

Both packages are signature required. Fed Ex just arrived, dropped one off at my door and never knocked. I opened the door thinking I would meet the driver to sign but he was already starting to drive off. Either he was super fast or I am slow or both...lol. 1 package down, 1 more to go. I feel like a hostage waiting for the other delivery just in case they really do require signature and don't deliver if I am not here. They always follow rules when you aren't around.

I think they can do that based on the insured value ..

Like if it's under $100, but sig required, the driver can still just drop it and run.

Value is much higher than that on these. Of course no idea if the driver knows that or not. Package 2 arrived so I am no longer living in Australia.
