My first date with my wife of 25 years, we went to the Lone Star flight museum on Galveston island.

They had a Jumo 004 engine on display. Very cool

Interesting.. those engine were each built by hand. You could not exchange parts from one engine to another because of tolerance issues. You could only run a Jumo 004 jet engine for about 10~25 hours before it had to be replaced.

I had no idea there was one of these still flying either PLX, it' pretty darn cool if I say so myself!

It was a beast and one of the fastest, if not the fastest WWII fighters.

Thing is, it came way too late ('44 IIRC) to have any major effect.

That, plus the fact that that narcissistic, failed "artist" painter Hitler was too fucking stupid to realize their potential: he wanted to use them as bombers.
