Black Sabbath - Ozzy vs Dio

What singer did you prefer? What era? Ozzy or Dio? Part of me wishes Dio would have been willing to sing the Ozzy era songs. Would have been cool to hear those (maybe). I think Dio could sing the Ozzy era songs better than Ozzy could sing the Dio era songs. Discuss...

I prefer the Dio stuff overall just a little bit more.

I can appreciate the Ozzy years but I think musically Black Sabbath hit their zenith with Ronnie James Dio IMHO.............. Heaven and Hell/ Mob Rules albums enough said....................................................................................

Back in the day I would say Ozzy all the way but as time went on I really liked the Dio era Sabbath more and more! I didn’t care for Dio singing the Ozzy tunes on the Live Evil album.

Yes Dio doesn't do a good Ozzy and Ozzy can't touch Dio so I guess they are even. I just feel the material evolved in a good way when Dio and Iommi were at the helm.

I actually thought Ian Gillain did OK with the Dio stuff, Heaven and Hell was EVIL!. I prefer Ian Gillain doing Dio over Ozzy. Ozzy covering anyone just doesn't work or vice versa IMO.
