I've eyed that particular product before... you'll have to tell me how well it works out.

Re: Fret Replacement On Dean ML
It worked great. There are a lot of different types of fret crowning files out there, but they recommend this type for people with little to no skill level at this type of work..
So that worked out great for me.
One thing I learned is: make sure you have either a "file card" of some type of small brush to clean the metal shavings out of the file as you go.
The baffling thing about this job is the two replaced frets look wider than the original ones.. but they're not. I measured the fret wire with a digital micrometer before I ordered it.
I finally realized, it's the color that makes it look that way. The original frets are neither silver nor gold colored - they're somewhere in between.
I actually ordered the silver colored fret wire first, and when I looked at it next to the guitar I realized it wasn't the right color. So then I ordered the gold.
Well, that's not right either.
The only other choice was stainless steel, and I can tell you right now these are not SS frets.

I'm playing right now.
Everything seems to have worked out fine. No fret buzz. New pickup and volume pot work fine.
It's nothing short of a miracle, because I fully expected the fret replacement to be a debacle.

Thoughts on the pickup?
How does it sound?
Is the lowend tight enough for NUNO?

I gotta change all the EQ stuff I had going on for the other pickup.harddriver wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 3:32 am Thoughts on the pickup?

Obviously, I just switched off all that to start with. Tabula rasa.
Goes without saying.. this pickup has much higher signal strength. I had to adjust all the inputs to my DAW.
