Hercules Guitar Wall Hangers

Post by PLX »

Anyone ever seen one of these just break.. like, for no reason ?

I have a Fender bass I use for recording. Had it hanging on the wall with my other guitars for years. All using the exact same Hercules wall hangers.

I noticed the other day the metal sleeve that comes out of the wooden block that is lag-bolted into the wall has just cracked. There's a bolt inside the sleeve that kept the bass from crashing to the floor (thankfully), but WTF ?

I contacted Hercules support, but no response. Thinking about just replacing them all with another brand.

That is very odd. I have never seen that but that could end up being a very bad deal if it fully broke. I had a similar bizarre issue with a different product. My Snark Tuners have turned from that rubberized type finish to a sticky, tacky finish. As I went to use it the pivot just crumbled and the read out portion just completely disconnected from the clamping portion.

These products need to be made better for sure. Sorry you had that happen. Good thing you noticed it and it didn't drop the instrument and cause any damage or break a headstock, etc.

Damn, man...! Glad your bass is all right and didn't fall!
