Where were the RAT settings on this clip? I only ask because I'm not hearing as much clank and aggressive top end that I normally hear from the RAT? I'm just assuming you were using the RAT in this clip....

I used the "standard Nuno settings" on the RAT pedal.harddriver wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 7:50 pm I like it alot more than the A-8 HO pickup you were using. The FW is thicker, more percussive and it seems tight enough for NUNO.You could maybe brighten the amp up some to compensate for the darker pickup tone or add some more distortion to the RAT.

It's JCM800 clone.harddriver wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 2:38 am So tell me again how your amp is wired up. Does it have a 12.7K/.68uf cascading into the 10 K clipper like a standard JCM800.
I know you mentioned some kid of early 2203 design and the only thing I found the "The Big Book of Marshall" was a 2203/04 schematic dated 11/10/76 that v1a 820/330uf and v1b 2.7K/.68uf where each .022 coupling caps fed through 100K resistors together then connected to the input of the 1 meg pot thus cascading them right before the pot. Is this what you are running?
I swore I saw a 10K cold clipper on your board and 470K/500pf resistor just before the preamp gain pot and a 1000pf ceramic cap on your preamp gain pot which would make you amp a later standard JMC800 layout.
These clips sound a little more gainy, I would run the amps preamp on 7-8 so the pedal is pushing into the amp gained up and then back the level down on the RAT if you need too but I don't think you will.
This pickup sounds like it can pull off NUNO maybe add some more presence and treble to get that high end bite that the L500XL has too much of...![]()
I thought you went with just the .68uf cap on V2A. Did you go back to the 330uf or 25uf fat cap as well?
