You might've noticed that I didn't automatically go for the biggest / best names, MOTU being a good case-in-point.

MOTU's Digital Performer has been around since the early '80s when it was called Performer (no digital audio, just MIDI), and yet you can still load projects created in v1 almost 40 years ago into Digital Performer today. I've committed to MOTU for software and interfaces partly because the company's been around for so long.

Allen & Heath analogue mixers aren't Neves or Ameks, obviously, but you get similar performance and much-smaller footprints at reasonable price points. Never owned A&H but respect the brand highly.

Yamaha mixers are just solid, tough and tend to have a neutral / true sound, so you can't really go wrong with them.

Plugin FX - Eventide's heritage is legendary and for time-based FX you can't go wrong.
Plugin processors - PSP has been around for a long time and consistently produces superb-sounding plugins.
Plugin VI's - Spectrasonics has been around since the mid '90s and Eric's ear is legendary, as is the company's back catalogue.
