Is there a better pedal that does what it does out there for the money?

Possibly the MXR Custom Badass Modified OD (which is a clone of a modded SD-1)

About 12-13 years ago I bought a boutique 808/SD-1 808PLUS pedal from Effects Pedal Boutique (SRB)in Georgia, he used premium parts, resistors, caps. This pedal has a three way clipping switch Symmetrical= Maxon Od-808, Asymmetrical= Boss SD-1, No Clipping diodes clean boost and a fat switch for strats, this pedal has about 25% more gain than an original OD808/SD-1, slightly more bass but still tightens things up and is running a NOS JRC4558 chip in it. He also had th same model with twice the gain over stock but I liked the 25% gain the best but I run my 100% gain pedal with the gian turned down set for the amount my 25% pedal setting. This pedal has won over alot of pedals over the years. MIT Boss SD-1, Boss MIJ OD-1, Boutique Taxi Driver OD-1, Maxon OD808, Doug Aldrich Rocket fuel OD, XTS Atomic Overdrive.

My second favorite pedal was the green Maxon OD808 reissue pedal, I only recently got rid of it after rebuying one because I missed it so much even with my SRB pedal! ;)

I know the new Waza SD-1 has a switch for stock bass cut or modded less bass cut. If you can find the SRB808 plus I highly recommend it, they pop up on Reverb every now and then.

I don't know who makes the best boutique SD-1 pedal these days, someone has to....................

I always heard the Zakk Wylde pedal was a good sounding pedal, of course it's an SD-1 pedal!
