Suddenly, gear and playing aren't as important... what's important is getting on rig-talk.com and getting stimulus by interacting with a bunch of non-playing paid circus clowns and monkeys throwing poop; designed to do just that to keep you coming back for more.

Then you start cutting down on practicing. Then your skill level diminishes. Then you just stop playing guitar altogether.

In my opinion, the worst part of rigtalk.com (OffTopic Section) is that I believe there are numerous troll accounts just there to consistently take the opposite viewpoint of any given thread.

As soon as you get a good discussion going on a topic, every single time, out of nowhere, a group of trolls attacks the thread. They don’t attack it with critical thinking, or good discussion and debate.

All that arguing/trolling keeps members posting and coming back for more. It keeps the forum active.

For example, they haven't banned Donnie and all his ALTs, and they never will. And there's a reason for that.

No gear forum worth its salt would allow a shit-disturber like Donnie to continue to post; he would be perma-banned.

The way the moderators are running it is completely counterintuitive. Everything they do is the opposite of how you should run a business to make money.

And I swear if I live to be 100, I will never understand what the relationship is between this "Donnie" character and the two moderators there.
