They're always hammering on people who post about what EVH used for gear over there. But if you dig a little deeper, you will find that those who complain about EVH threads can't even play the guitar, or do so very poorly. Like what you said there, it really is "sour grapes". And the part about guitar playing dying and being replaced by forum popularity contests and such is bang on accurate.

Does their forum sound like:

"Hellooooo - oooo - oooo? Anybody actually play guitar in this Clown show - oooow - ooow - oow?"

After explaining to the local doofuses that you don't bag on someone on a guitar forum (for fuck's sake) for talking EVH, sent a PM to both Mods there telling them that their forum is dying.

They will of course chuckle about it, but there's over a year's worth of evidence and actual statements from former members who left that back it up.

And overall forum engagement has dropped drastically compared to say 5 years ago.

Just another "this forum was commandeered by no-talent-having assclowns" forum to add to the dungheap of forum history.

Except this time, it's a major and legendary guitar pickup business.

The only kind of shithead that shits all over an Eddie thread on a guitar forum is someone who can't fucking play the guitar. That place is full of wannabees now because all the real guitar players left years ago. I see the same shitheads from Ace-beaubrummel-Securb's group are still there stroking each other off. That's the echo chamber, all right and it's pretty much only them now.

Seymour Duncan's forum died years ago. They used to have famous guitarists make forum cameos; there used to be a thriving and knowledgeable community and the mods did not have agendas.

It was all replaced by members who really don't play much looking for their 15 mins of undeserved fame while patting each other on the head.

The loss of SDs forum isn't a major hit because there are plenty of other gear forums to visit. Most are full of garbage like rig-talk.com but there's a few that are worthwhile. In other words, no big loss.

Does anybody remember when they used to have famous A-list players like Yngwie and Dave Mustaine guest speak on the forum and answer questions? It's been years since that happened, and it's mostly B and C-listers being featured on their pickup website. Sad days for them indeed.
