60Hz @ +30dB 1.5Q
500Hz @ -5dB
1K @ 2dB
2.5K @ 3dB
6K @ 7dB
We know he used ADA MP-1, etc and Wagener used a BBE Sonic Maximizer, so different gear than my Plexi etc

Definitely.
None of these studio guys ever say what they're actually EQing and by how much, Q etc...
My dry clip sounds night and day compared to this (I mean, I know that, but with this much boost it's night and day).
Perhaps what's going on here is not so much scooping out a lot of midrange, but rather they're boosting the lows and highs so much that it seems like the midrange is scooped a lot.
