Very close. A little more EQ tweaking

Re: VH 1 tone test
Be curious if you did another run exactly the same except use Super 70 pickup.

Sorry. I finished the track and took the old ones down.

Re: VH 1 tone test
Sounds a hair more grungy/crunky than the original (and your last clip)... like there's a slight constipation in the low mids (pushing a little too much gain in those freqs). The last clip's distortion was nice and clear with the right grind (secret pedal) to it, but the EQ needed work.PLX wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 1:38 amSorry. EQ is slightly better; still a little too much mids.
Is the Jalen pickup again? Can't get away from those JB (Jalen) mids; can't EQ them out.
For this tune I got surprising (to me) results with SH-55 Seth Lover (PAF) and the secret pedal into my Plexi. I was like, "PAF? no shit?!?":

Re: VH 1 tone test
No shit, man ! I think you're right about that. I was getting sooo damn close to that tone while A/B'ing the isolated guitar track in the DAW, but it was like every time I'd start tweaking the EQ I could only get so close.
I tell ya what, using room mics in the blend seems to help !
