Do you work on your own guitars, amps, gear or do you have somebody do the work for you?

I do my work on my guitars to a certain point. I’ll do wiring and setups but I still leave fret work to a professional. I’ve rebiased amps before but for the most part stay out of them as I have a healthy respect for high voltages.

Work on my own amps and guitars, I've been building amps since 2007 or so with multiple builds under my belt from traditional plexis to highly modded plexi's/Marshall's, 2203's 2204's up to SLO style builds. It's been fun learning them applying the theory. I've put togther a few Musikrafts and Warmoth guitars and they all play well but I usually give the setup and fretwork to my luthier who is getting up there in years now so I might be screwed in a few years.
For refrets and any delicate repar work I defer to my luthier that has decades of experience and he doesn't rip me off, the guy can look at a job and quote you a price up front and either stick to the estimate or be darn close. He says if you don't know your abilities and how long it will take you to do something after doing it for years and years you need to hang it up.......................................He is a good dude.

I work on my own stuff 99% of the time. I recently took in a few guitars for a fret level and polish. I didn’t feel like touching them. They came out good so I was happy.

Myself. Guitars, amps, etc...
Amp-wise (Marshalls in particular), I cut my teeth on info back on the old Plexi Palace forum in early 2Ks (back when it was cool).
