Flamboyant and the Liberace of Rock and Roll....
I can't help but notice his sort of cryptic language in the video, i'm paraphrasing but...
“I am encouraged and compelled to really come to grips with how short time is, and my time is probably even shorter,”
“I might have thought the Marlboro Man would’ve got me. Hey Ed, objects in the rear-view mirror are probably me. And my doctors, my handlers, compelled me to really address that every time I go on stage, I endanger that future.”

Makes you wonder if he is sick and knows he has a small window of time left or something. I found some of his statements cryptic as well.

One of my all time FAVES and my wife and I will be at the Friday 1/7 show. Got two tickets at a table near the stage when they went on pre-sale for $450. Funny thing is, I was blasting Dave's Greatest Hits on the way home from work last Friday and not even an hour later my wife read he announced he was retiring. I was already planning on going at the end of the year but jumped on the tickets right then.
Three of the five shows sold out on Saturday after tickets officially went on sale. Ticketmaster has a disclaimer that prices are subject to change due to demand and they started raising prices even for some balcony seats to ove $2000. They also do something called verified re-sale where I guess people scalp the tickets they bought to new buyers through Ticketmaster at crazy prices. Ticketmaster and Stubhub now have some tickets for all of the shows and they are not cheap.
