What is quite ironic and unintentionally humorous is the fact that (at least I'm 99.9% sure) none of them arguing with the OP have "brought their own receipts". In other words not a single Van Halen tone clip from these agonisingly high and mighty tone professors has been proffered.

In reality, it was me trying that riff, learning to record thru Logic, and learning to post without using Youtube.

Had trouble, obviously and asked for help.
Got nowhere.

First and foremost, I was just trying to learn how to play the riff, not cop EVH' tone.
If I was trying to cop a tone, it would be Warren Haynes.
